Mountain Software Presents:
MANUALIZER
By Anthony Watson
Version 1.1
Released July 30, 1993
Now FREEWARE!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
Manualizer should run in any resolution on any ST/TT. The program itself
requires 50K of free RAM though you will need more RAM available to store the
text file you wish to 'Manualize'.
You'll also need a printer compatible with the Hewlett Packard Laserjet II
printer. If you do not have a compatible printer this program will be of very
little use to you!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
OPERATING MANUALIZER
I recently purchased a laser printer and began searching for various
utilities to make use of it abilities. While there were quite a number of
utilities that could print text in landscape mode I could not find one that
would print the pages in the proper order to be able to fold the sheets into
the form of a manual. So, after a little research and LOTS of wasted paper I
wrote Manualizer!
Operating Manualizer couldn't be much simpler. Simply run the MANUAL.PRG
file. Click on the 'PROCEED' button, locate the text file you wish to create a
manual from, and then follow the prompts!
The trickiest part of operating Manualizer is learning how to flip the pages
over and inserting them back into your printer to print the back sides of the
sheets. After printing the front sides of the sheets, the sheets are flipped
over end to end, and then fed in reverse order. A little practice will soon
have you understanding the process!
One last point, Manualizer determines which size type to use by examining
the length of every line in the text file. If every line in the text file is
50 columns or less, then the manual will be printed with large type. If ANY
line is over 50 columns long the manual will be printed with small type. Most
text editors allow you to reformat text files to any number of columns if you
desire a specific type size. Please keep in mind that reformatting will
generally mess up any tables or columns you may have set up in your text file.
Manualizer is intended for standard ASCII text files only, and the results
are sure to be unpredictable if you try to Manualize a non-ASCII file!
I sincerely hope you find this program useful. If you have any questions
regarding this program, or any Mountain Software program, please don't
hesitate to contact me. I'll provide any assistance I am able to.

Version 1.1
Released July 30, 1993
Well, it's been eight months since the release of the first version of
manualizer! And while I've found this program to be an absolute necessity, I
have received 'ZERO' registrations!
So taking into account the fact that I'm not likely to ever receive a dime
from this program, I've decided to remove all restrictions from the program
and release it now as FREEWARE! Consider it my way of saying Thank You to all
those who HAVE registered other shareware programs I've written!
Perhaps without the $10 shareware fee a few folks will actually get some use
out of this program?
